A raw black clay incense chalice, wheel-thrown and left unglazed so the material speaks for itself. The surface is matte and earthen, dark and quietly grounding, a natural counterpoint to the pale porcelain in the same form. A fitting companion for the ritual of lighting a stick, and for the moment of meditation that follows.
Raised on a gently tapered foot, the chalice holds a single stick upright and catches the ash as it falls. Hand-thrown on the wheel and finished bare, made in a London pottery workshop. Because each piece is thrown individually, no two are quite alike.
A companion to our Porcelain Incense Chalice, sharing the same hand-thrown craft in a darker, elemental form.
Product Specifications:
Each incense holder is individually made and unique, measures approximately 12 cm wide and 3 cm high, and weighs around 250 g. Because each item is made and finished by hand there may be slight variations from the photographs.
As a raw, unglazed piece, hand washing is recommended and the natural surface may deepen gently with use.
