Sacred Elephant's incense is made by a family of artisans in India whose knowledge of this craft spans more than two centuries, six or seven generations of accumulated skill, passed down and refined. In a country with no shortage of incense makers, they are among the finest.

Prema first met them in 2015, on his way to a personal meditation retreat in Vrindavan. The relationship that began there has shaped everything made since.

The process is genuinely collaborative. Prema and Yama design each scent, he character, the note structure, how it opens and how it develops, drawing on Prema's eighteen years in the ashrama and Yama's upbringing in the Peruvian Amazon, and their shared knowledge of how fragrance supports human life. The artisan family bring their generations of technical mastery: sourcing the oils, advising on what works, blending with a precision that only comes from that depth of experience.
